Property Description

A small village set around the "Pieve", a rural baptistery church built in 990 AD on a location dating back to the early Roman period. The first documented correspondence on the Pieve di Comunaglia dates back to 1050. The village has been restored with total respect for the use of local materials, but also with the firm conviction that alternative energy must be the future of a civilized world. With this in mind, the entire village has a biomass central heating system, photovoltaic panels and state-of-the-art materials, including fibre optics and centralised satellite connection. Olivo is a beautiful two-floor house plus a nice room on the second floor of the watchtower. Each room has a panoramic view in all directions from dawn to dusk. It can comfortably accommodate six people. The entrance on the ground floor opens onto a spacious living room with a fireplace and an original hexagonal antique terracotta floor. The dining room overlooks an olive tree from which the house takes its name. French doors lead to the beautiful courtyard, sheltered from the sun for outdoor dining. The kitchen is fully equipped. On the second floor, in the tower, there is a romantic double bedroom with stunning views and the third bathroom with shower is on the first floor.
